This film has been in Guillermo del Toro’s mind since his youth. At last, the director has brought his dream to life, and this year, we will witness the fruits of his imagination.
Guillermo del Toro has long dreamed of adapting the classic Frankenstein. While there have been countless adaptations of Mary Shelley's iconic work, del Toro always brings something unique to the table, infusing his own signature touch and leaving a mark of his craftsmanship.
“This film has been on my mind since I was a child-for fifty years. I’ve been trying to make it for 20 to 25 years. In fact, some people may even think I am a little bit obsessed with Frankenstein” the director says in a report by Variety, “You see, over the decades, the character has fused with my soul in a way that it has become an autobiography. It doesn’t get more personal than this. I hope you enjoy this small look at Frankenstein”.
The release date for Frankenstein on Netflix has already been announced. This highly anticipated film, directed by a visionary filmmaker, will arrive in November 2025. Leading the cast is Oscar Isaac, who takes on the iconic role of Frankenstein’s monster, bringing a fresh take to the legendary character.
