However, Chris Hemsworth won’t be appearing in the series. The lead role of the mercenary, who will have to save hostages in Libya, will be played by French actor Omar Sy, known for the movie The Intouchables.
In the series, his character will be caught between warring factions, and he will have to choose a side to survive. Netflix representatives have promised that the series will thrill viewers with exciting action scenes.

Last year, producers Joe and Anthony Russo mentioned that the third film could explore the character's backstory — the events that shaped his dark personality. Still, the end of the second film hinted at a continuation. Rake was freed from prison by a mysterious stranger, played by Idris Elba, meaning that the mercenary’s story will continue as he takes on new missions from this person.
