Although Stephen King's name is most often associated with truly creepy stories, monsters, and evil clowns, the author’s work extends far beyond a single genre, also exploring science fiction themes. Several sci-fi series have been based on his books, including the well-known 11.22.63 starring James Franco, and Under the Dome, which ended rather quickly after the decision was made to cancel it following just three seasons.
Nevertheless, the show remains part of some streaming libraries and is definitely worth checking out for anyone eagerly awaiting the third season of Silo.
Under the Dome — another drama about a forcibly isolated society
Based on Stephen King's novel of the same name, the series tells the story of the residents of Chester's Mill, Maine, who one otherwise ordinary autumn day find themselves cut off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. In desperation, people try to break through the mysterious dome using lasers and chemicals, but all attempts are futile — the townspeople must now survive day by day without electricity, medical assistance, or food supplies.

As the situation inside the closed-off area worsens, the local sheriffs find it increasingly difficult to maintain order. The first season of Under the Dome premiered in 2013, and things went relatively well until the show started delivering noticeably poor performance. The specific reasons remain unclear, but by the release of the third season in 2015, the decision was made to cancel the series.
Meanwhile, filming of Silo’s third season is already in full swing
The second season of the dystopian drama starring Rebecca Ferguson only wrapped in January of this year, but unlike many other shows, Silo is already preparing to release new episodes as soon as possible. In fact, back in April, sources reported that filming of the new season was well underway, and showrunner Graham Yost even revealed that in the upcoming episodes, viewers will finally learn the secret of Silo 17.
There is no confirmed release date yet, but the third season will likely begin airing either at the end of this year or the beginning of the next.
