The second season of Squid Game, which has been breaking records on Netflix for the second consecutive week, cleverly outsmarted its own viewers, who, over the three years between seasons, have clearly forgotten the key plot twists of the first season. The latest of the new episodes ended with a cliffhanger, revealing (for especially devoted fans — not such a shocking truth) about the main character Son Ki-hoon's closest ally — but in the third season of Squid Game, something similar is definitely not to be expected.
Squid Game has used the same plot twist with Player 001 twice
Although this time the situation has escalated even more, the second season still didn't overcomplicate things and reintroduced one of the Front Men, presenting him as Player 001. In the first season, this was Oh Il-nam — at first glance, an ordinary elderly man, but in reality, the founder of the game, who wanted to get a dose of adrenaline before dying from brain cancer. Despite the fact that in the second season, the relationship between Son Ki-hoon and Front Man Hwang In-ho reaches a completely different level, introducing the same plot twist in the third season of the series would be a fatal mistake, and the show itself risks getting stuck in a loop.

Despite fans' concerns, the third season of Squid Game is unlikely to repeat the previous ones — and will probably showcase even more brutal events
Unlike the first season, which is a complete story in itself, the second and third seasons actually represent one season, simply divided into two parts. Accordingly, the events of the third season will unfold immediately after what happened in the second — for now, the players are only halfway through, and three more equally dangerous games lie ahead. Additionally, given the situation in the players' camp, this time the winner will have a direct impact on what will happen with the games next — and if it is Son Ki-hoon again, the future of the bloody competitions will be in very serious doubt.
