Thanks to One Small Detail In Her Suit: Here Is Why Juliette Survived Outside Bunker

Rebecca Ferguson

Not everyone caught this, but they definitely should have.

In the thrilling dystopian series Silo one of the most eerie and mysterious details is the deaths of everyone who leaves the bunker. Those who dared to step outside perished within minutes. However, Juliette Nichols, the main protagonist, became the exception, breaking the so-called “curse.” So, what was the secret to her survival?

A Deadly Atmosphere

At first glance, everything seemed clear: the outside world was depicted as a mortally toxic environment. The deaths of those who ventured outside were attributed to the contaminated air and the inability to withstand poisoning. The airtight suits provided were the only form of protection. However, as events unfold, it becomes evident that the standard suits provided for going outside were insufficient. Everyone who left met the same fate, leading the characters to believe that the world outside was far more complicated than it appeared.

Juliette’s Secret: Suit Enhancement

Juliette approached the preparation for her exit with an engineer's meticulousness. Doubting the reliability of the standard gear, she decided to reinforce it. The key solution was additional insulation using simple duct tape. This helped seal the seams, making the suit completely airtight and preventing any leaks.

Moreover, unlike her predecessors, Juliette paid attention to the smallest details, checking the suit’s condition and ensuring it was ready for the outside. This simple yet brilliant improvement turned out to be crucial.

Manipulations and Deception

It was revealed that the deaths of those leaving the bunker were not solely due to environmental factors but also manipulations within the bunker itself. The suits were intentionally made unreliable to convince the residents of the danger of the outside world, keeping them in a constant state of fear. Armed with her engineering knowledge, Juliette was able to bypass this hidden control mechanism.
