Star-Studded Cast Begins to Take Shape — Lady Gaga May Join 'Guys and Dolls' Remake
The musical revival adds another high-profile name to the mix.
As Rob Marshall’s Guys and Dolls remake moves closer to reality, casting rumors are heating up — and the latest update involves none other than Lady Gaga. According to a new report, the Oscar-nominated actress and singer has now been offered a role in the upcoming adaptation of the Broadway and Hollywood classic.
Gaga, fresh off her role in Joker: Folie à Deux and set to appear in the next season of Netflix’s Wednesday, currently has no other major projects publicly lined up — making this potential casting move both well-timed and realistic. It’s unclear which character she may play, though her dramatic range and musical background suggest she could easily take on one of the film’s iconic leading ladies.
This update comes on the heels of earlier reports that Zendaya is in talks to star in the film. We previously covered those developments and the overall production status of Guys and Dolls in more detail here.
With Zendaya and Gaga both circling major roles, the film appears to be assembling a high-powered ensemble. Screenwriters John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are still attached to the script, and Marshall — best known for Chicago — seems ready to return to musical filmmaking.
