Beloved British actor Timothy West, known for his commanding stage presence and rich television career, passed away at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy spanning more than six decades. Famous for roles in Edward the King, The Day of the Jackal, Brass, and EastEnders, West was also admired for his long-standing marriage to fellow actor Prunella Scales.
In later years, the couple charmed audiences in the documentary series Great Canal Journeys. Though no official cause of death has been publicly confirmed, West had spoken candidly in interviews about his health challenges, including struggles with memory loss and the effects of a brain injury. He is survived by his children, including actor Samuel West.
