While details of her role remain undisclosed, O’Connor will star alongside franchise veteran Neve Campbell, who reprises her iconic role as Sidney Prescott. Isabel May is also set to join the ensemble, portraying Sidney's daughter.
As anticipation builds for the latest installment, plot specifics have yet to be revealed. However, the film comes on the success of Scream VI, which achieved a franchise-high domestic gross of over $108 million in March 2023. Collectively, the Scream series has amassed more than $900 million globally at the box office, showcasing its enduring popularity.
Kevin Williamson, the original architect of the Scream series who penned the milestone 1996 film, takes the helm as director this time, working from a script by Guy Busick. The producing team features James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Paul Neinstein, who previously collaborated with Busick on the 2022 Scream reboot and Scream VI under the Project X Entertainment banner. Scream 7 will be released in theaters worldwide by Paramount Pictures on February 27, 2026.
In addition to her work in the Ghostbusters franchise, O'Connor has demonstrated her range in projects like Marvel's Madame Web, the dramatic film A Good Person, the slasher Freaky, and the Sundance entry Selah and the Spades.
