Netflix is diving into one of America’s darkest chapters with a new crime biopic, Unabom, and the cast alone is enough to send chills. Tudum by Netflix reports that Jacob Tremblay — once the wide-eyed child star — steps into a haunting new role as Ted Kaczynski, the brilliant mind who became the infamous Unabomber. But he’s not alone. Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe joins him, alongside Shailene Woodley and Annabelle Wallis, in a film that promises to unearth not just a killer’s crimes, but his creation.
Directed by Borg vs McEnroe’s Janus Metz, Unabom aims to do more than dramatise a series of terror attacks.
"It’s about a young man who feels increasingly disenfranchised by society," Metz explains. "We crosscut between the making of the Unabomber and his capture."

The FBI’s most expensive manhunt forms one part of the story — but the real hook? The film zooms in on Kaczynski’s Harvard years, a time when the future domestic terrorist was subjected to controversial psychological experiments by Professor Henry Murray, played by Crowe.
The official synopsis hints at something more than just procedural drama. This is about the transformation of a Harvard prodigy into a symbol of radical isolation. As agent Joanne Miller (Woodley) leads the chase decades later, the audience is left to question whether genius, when stripped of connection and empathy, becomes a ticking time bomb.
