The martini glass is empty, the tux is back on the hanger — and the race for the next James Bond is heating up. But if you’re hoping for insider picks from former 007 Pierce Brosnan, think again. The iconic star, who brought charm and danger to the role across four films, is staying tight-lipped — and delightfully mysterious. However, The Hollywood Reporter interviewer managed to draw something out of him, and the name he mentioned is very familiar.
"I have no picks. I shall leave it open to the powers that be," Brosnan told the HR with a knowing smile. "It’s a very exciting moment in the history of James Bond. Now that Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson] have relinquished the reins of it."
His words hint at a seismic shift. With longtime producers Broccoli and Wilson stepping back, the Bond universe is primed for reinvention — and reinvigoration. Naturally, talk has turned to potential replacements, including Brosnan’s MobLand co-star Tom Hardy.

"Oh! (Laughs.) Tom would be wonderful," Brosnan said. "There’s so many great actors out there who could portray this character. I have no idea who, I have no idea. I wish whoever it is great success. Toi toi toi."
New blood, old legacy — and a shaken-not-stirred future ahead.
