Over Two Years in the Making: 'Wednesday' Season 2 Premieres in August with New 6 Min Teaser

Wednesday still

Fans of Netflix’s hit series Wednesday can mark their calendars for August, as season 2 is set to return this month.

While viewers have patiently awaited new episodes, Netflix has just released the first six minutes of the upcoming season during its 2025 TUDUM Live event, giving fans a tantalizing preview of what’s to come. This sneak peek is part of Netflix’s popular strategy of releasing initial segments of highly anticipated shows to build excitement — similar to what was done for Bridgerton. The six-minute clip offers a taste of the dark comedy’s new direction and teases the intriguing storylines ahead.

But that’s not all — season 2 also features exciting cast additions. Lady GaGa has joined the cast as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious and legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday. Additionally, Haley Joel Osment will play Chet, a down-on-his-luck pet groomer turned serial killer obsessed with hair, who traps Wednesday in his basement at the start of the season. Showrunner Alfred Gough explained that Chet was envisioned as a beauty school dropout with a dark obsession.

The new season boasts an impressive lineup, including Billie Piper as Capri, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Thandiwe Newton, and Christopher Lloyd from the Addams Family movies. Lady Gaga will also make a cameo appearance. After over two years since season 1’s debut — one of Netflix’s biggest hits — the second season will be split into two parts: episodes drop on August 6th and September 3rd.
