During the filming of Now You See Me, Isla Fisher faced a dangerous situation while shooting the piranha tank scene. The tank was designed with an open top so Fisher could swim up for air, and it also had an emergency lever inside that would alert the crew if she needed help.
In one take, Fisher ran out of air and tried to swim to the surface, but her handcuffs' chains became stuck on the bottom of the tank, preventing her from reaching the top or pulling the emergency lever. She then attempted to signal the crew by hitting the glass, but since her character was supposed to be panicked and scared, the crew initially thought she was just acting.
Fisher was trapped for about three minutes before the stunt coordinator finally realized something was wrong when he noticed her handcuffs were caught. This close call highlighted the risks involved in filming intense underwater scenes and the importance of safety precautions on set.
