Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett's undeniable chemistry is the first thing to note in the new preview for Michael Showalter's Verity. Although the footage has not been made publicly available, Collider had the opportunity to get an exclusive first look at it on the third day of CinemaCon during Amazon MGM’s presentation.
The two are making eyes at each other, sharing a magnetic connection in the movie first teaser. Their characters, Verity (Hathaway) and Jeremy (Hartnett), meet one night at a club and quickly fall in love. Verity, an author, falls ill and becomes bedridden, prompting Jeremy to invite another writer, Lowen (Johnson), to finish her book series.
However, things take a steamy turn as Jeremy and Lowen begin a passionate affair that upends both their lives. By the time the preview cuts to black, those attending CinemaCon were left uncertain about who the true antagonist of the story really is.

Verity, based on Colleen Hoover's novel, is set to release on May 15, 2026. Alongside the main characters portrayed by Anne Hathaway as Verity Crawford and Josh Hartnett as Jeremy Crawford, the film also stars Dakota Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh. Additional cast members include Ismael Cruz Córdova, Brady Wagner, Irina Dvorovenko, K.K. Moggie, and Michael Abbott Jr.
