Sources close to the beloved Spider-Man duo confirmed their engagement on Monday, January 6, after Zendaya made a stunning appearance on the Golden Globe red carpet, showcasing what appeared to be an engagement ring on her left hand.
People have reported the engagement news, with one insider revealing to People that "everyone close to them knew an engagement was coming." The source shared that Holland has "always been crazy about her" and "always knew she was the one," emphasizing the special connection they share.
The proposal allegedly took place at one of Zendaya’s family homes during the holiday season. While details about their wedding plans remain under wraps, a source mentioned that the couple "won’t rush into marriage," as they are both busy with various work commitments. They are currently involved in multiple projects together, including Christopher Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey and a new Spider-Man sequel reportedly in development.

Holland and Zendaya first confirmed their relationship in 2021, after co-starring in Spider-Man: Homecoming back in 2017.
The buzz surrounding the engagement coincidentally followed Holland's recent cover feature in Men’s Health, where he expressed his desire to let Zendaya shine during her own significant events. He did just that at the Golden Globes, where Zendaya was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy for her leading role in Challengers. The couple last walked a red carpet together at the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.
In the same article, Holland reflected on his future, including family aspirations. "When I have kids, you won't see me in movies anymore," he remarked, indicating a willingness to trade his Hollywood career for fatherhood. "Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth."

While Zendaya is often reserved about discussing their relationship publicly, she recently praised Holland in a Vogue cover story, noting how they navigated their careers starting at such a young age. "I definitely watched his life change right in front of him. But he handled it really beautifully," she said.
In a recent interview on the Dish Podcast, Holland humorously remarked on the perks of dating Zendaya while filming Spider-Man and the upcoming Nolan project. "Studios love it: one hotel room," he quipped, adding, "Separate drivers. We’re not crazy… It’s work, alright!"
