Born on February 24, 1984, in Hillsborough, New Jersey, Bethel honed his craft early on, showcasing a passion for acting that would pave the way for a successful career.
Wilson Bethel made his on-screen debut as Brad in the teen drama series The O.C., appearing in the episode titled The Telenovela. He subsequently secured guest roles in popular shows such as JAG, Cold Case, and NCIS. Notably, Bethel portrayed Corporal Evan "Q-Tip" Stafford in the critically acclaimed miniseries Generation Kill, which starred Alexander Skarsgård.
His film career began with the 2008 Vietnam War film Tunnel Rats, where he played Army Special Ops soldier Corporal Green. The following year, he took on a recurring role as Ryder Callahan in the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless.
Bethel rose to prominence in The CW's comedy-drama series Hart of Dixie, where he played Wade Kinsella, the charming "bad-boy" neighbor of the show's main character, Zoe Hart. Filming for the series began in early 2011, and it premiered on September 26, 2011, concluding its run on May 7, 2015, after four successful seasons. Bethel's appeal was recognized when BuddyTV ranked him #14 on its' list of "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011," with an impressive climb to #2 on the same list in 2012. Additionally, he appeared in four episodes of ABC's legal thriller How to Get Away with Murder as Charles Mahoney.

In 2017, Bethel joined the Roundabout Theatre Company's production of The Last Match, a play set in the world of professional tennis. The following year, he made a memorable entrance into the Marvel universe as Benjamin "Dex" Poindexter, also known as Bullseye, in Daredevil. He is set to reprise this role in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series.
In 2019, Bethel landed a leading role on the CBS legal drama series All Rise, portraying Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan, further showcasing his versatility as an actor.
