Fans of the beloved How to Train Your Dragon franchise may have mixed feelings about the upcoming live-action remake, but original writer and director Dean DeBlois is back to explore this enchanting world.
"I decided to revisit How to Train Your Dragon because it felt like an amazing opportunity," DeBlois shares. "I miss these characters and this world, and I love movies with poignant messages wrapped in adventure and wonder."
Recently, new character posters were released on the official How to Train Your Dragon social media accounts, offering a glimpse of both the characters and their mystical dragon companions. The story centers on Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, a young Viking boy who forms a special bond with Toothless, an injured dragon he cares for. Together, they confront humanity's prejudice against dragons while navigating themes of loss and first love.
The live-action film stars Mason Thames as Hiccup and Nico Parker as Astrid, alongside a talented cast including Julian Dennison, Nick Frost, and Gerard Butler reprising his role as Stoick. DeBlois is producing alongside Marc Platt for Universal Pictures.
