Filming is underway in New Mexico on Pendulum, a psychological horror feature that brings together a compelling ensemble led by Oscar-nominated Jacki Weaver, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor, and Norman Reedus. The project comes with a powerful pedigree: it’s produced by Darren Aronofsky and written and directed by Black Swan co-writer Mark Heyman.
Pendulum follows Patrick (Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Dynevor), a young couple seeking solace at a remote new-age retreat after a traumatic experience. There, they place their hopes in a celebrated spiritual healer, Ella-Rose (Weaver). But what begins as a path to recovery quickly twists into something more unsettling, as Patrick grows suspicious of Ella-Rose’s true intentions while Abigail becomes increasingly entranced.

Weaver plays the enigmatic guide at the heart of the story — a figure of ambiguous power whose rituals blur the line between salvation and manipulation. The film explores whether belief can heal or harm, and whether devotion masks danger.
With its potent mix of psychological tension, desert isolation, and a quietly formidable cast, Pendulum could mark the next slow-burn horror to haunt audiences long after the credits roll.
