Wolverine may not be done slashing his way through the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet — or so fans are hoping. While promoting Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman was asked about the possibility of appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel's hotly anticipated ensemble blockbuster set for May 1, 2026.
"I really can’t say much, except when you say 'appear,' more like dominate and destroy every other character —I’m kidding,' Jackman laughed during an appearance on The View, adding, "I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add."
Though far from confirmation, Jackman’s playfully vague answer has only fuelled speculation. With Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and other X-Men alumni already confirmed to return, the stage seems set for Wolverine to join the action — if only briefly. And given Jackman’s long history with the character, from 2000’s X-Men to the gritty Logan and now Deadpool & Wolverine, fans aren’t letting go of hope just yet.

Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday boasts a universe-spanning cast including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm — making it one of Marvel’s most ambitious line-ups to date. Whether Wolverine claws his way into the mix remains to be seen, but the door, it seems, is far from closed.
