The director hinted at unexpected plot twists in the legendary film.

James Cameron, the creator of Avatar and Titanic, has once again intrigued fans by talking about the upcoming third film in the franchise. In an interview with Empire Magazine, the director promised that this time, viewers can expect not just a continuation of the story, but something entirely new and unexpected.

Cameron defies stereotypes

According to the 70-year-old director, his main goal is not to replicate the success of the previous installments, but to create something bold and original. In an interview with the Empire Magazine He emphasized that breaking stereotypes and pushing boundaries is crucial for him, and this approach will be applied to Avatar 3.

“If you’re not making brave choices, you’re wasting everybody’s time and money. That alone is not sufficient to create success, but it’s necessary. You’ve got to break the mould every fricking time,” Cameron said.

The visuals will impress even more

Cameron also assured that viewers can expect not only spectacular scenes but also unexpected plot twists that will be fully justified.

“You can get your blood up in this movie. But what excites me as an artist who recently turned 70 and has kind of done all that stuff is not only the opportunity to get to do it again, but to get to a level of character and intrigue you haven’t seen before in an Avatar movie,” said Cameron.

Thus, Cameron made it clear that Avatar 3 will not just be a continuation of a beloved story, but a new chapter in the franchise’s evolution that, according to him, will exceed audience expectations.

Release Date

Avatar 3 is scheduled for release on December 19, 2025, although it was previously slated for December 20, 2024.
