The White Lotus lost a key production member, all due to creative differences. The hit HBO drama, already renewed for a fourth season, will move forward without its composer. Cristóbal Tapia de Veer and showrunner Mike White couldn't reach a mutual agreement on several key musical moments.
According to Vanity Fair , after clashing over the musical direction, including a disagreement about the absence of the "ooh-loo-loo-loo" chorus in Season 3, Tapia de Veer informed the editorial team that he wouldn’t be returning for Season 4. Most intriguingly, the composer did not personally notify showrunner Mike White of his departure.
"I announced to the team a few months ago that I was not coming back, that I was leaving. I didn’t tell Mike for various reasons; I wanted to tell him just at the end for the shock and whatever. Except I told the whole editorial team and music editor and producer and all that, but I didn’t think that they were going to tell him. At some point he heard about that."

Overall, the composer is taking the creative differences in stride, calling them a natural part of the process. He likened the situation to being in a rock band, where sometimes the guitarist and singer just don’t see eye to eye.
