Everyone is probably curious about what really happened backstage at the Oscars after Mikey Madison's unexpected win for Best Actress over Demi Moore. Well, the actresses had a chat and cleared everything up.
Initially, it could be said that Demi had every chance of winning the coveted statuette, as she had taken the major award for Best Actress at all previous ceremonies (except for the BAFTAs), forecasting the outcome of the Oscars. The result of the Oscars was unexpected both for the actress and for many movie lovers. Even in the footage, it was clear how Demi struggled to hold back and barely applauded Mikey. Although the next day, she posted on Instagram and congratulated Madison, the rest still remained. Now, Mikey has shared what happened next in an interview with Hollywood Reporter.
Madison was asked if she had spoken with any of her fellow Best Actress nominees. She replied that she had indeed, mentioning that she had seen Fernanda (Torres from I’m Still Here), and they hugged.
"And I texted with Demi, who I adore. She’s one of the sweetest, kindest women I’ve ever met, and I’m so grateful that I was able to meet her and witness her brilliance and talent in person. I adore her and I can’t wait to see what she does next, what kind of characters she brings us. I think we’re all so ready and excited to see that," she concluded.
