Molly Gordon, known for her work on The Bear and Theater Camp, is set to write, direct, and star in the upcoming A24 comedy Peaked. The film, described as a sharp and nostalgic look at high school dynamics, follows "the two girls who traumatized you in high school as they try to relive their glory days at their 10-year reunion."
A Dream Team Behind the Scenes
Gordon is co-writing Peaked with her longtime friend Allie Levitan, a newly hired writer on Saturday Night Live. A24 will finance and produce the project, with production slated to begin later this year. The producing team includes David Hinojosa and Zach Nutman of 2AM, alongside Gordon and A24, while Levitan will serve as an executive producer. Topic Studios, previously involved in Theater Camp, will co-finance the film.

Expanding Creative Horizons
This isn’t the only major project Gordon and Levitan have in the works. The duo is also collaborating on Small Parts, a film for Searchlight Pictures that Gordon is set to direct and co-write. Small Parts has been described as a fresh take on the 1987 comedy Outrageous Fortune starring Shelley Long and Bette Midler. Production on that film began in May 2024, though its release date remains unconfirmed.
Gordon’s Rise in Comedy
Molly Gordon has been steadily building an impressive career in both acting and filmmaking. She co-wrote, co-directed, and co-starred in the Sundance hit Theater Camp alongside Noah Galvin, Ben Platt, and Nick Lieberman. Her acting credits also include Booksmart, Shiva Baby, You People, and the upcoming comedy Oh, Hi!.

Levitan, the daughter of Modern Family creator Steven Levitan, has a strong background in television writing, having worked on Our Cartoon President and the upcoming FX series Adults.
With Peaked, Gordon continues her creative momentum, bringing her signature wit and insight into the absurdities of growing up — and never quite letting go.
