Sydney Sweeney will star in and produce the thriller I Pretended To Be A Missing Girl.
The script, based on a short story published on Reddit, will be written by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
The plot centers on a drifter who pretends to be a missing girl in order to rob her family. However, the liar soon realizes that she has made a terrible mistake.

Sydney Sweeney, known for her roles in The White Lotus and Euphoria, is increasingly taking on a more active role in producing the projects she stars in. She served as an executive producer on Sony’s 2023 romantic comedy hit Anyone But You, which grossed 220.3 million in profit after ancillary revenues. Additionally, she played a key role in the production of the horror film Immaculate, which premiered at last year’s SXSW and was released by Neon.
