At this year’s CinemaCon, Disney unveiled the first footage from the highly anticipated Zootopia 2, giving audiences an early look at the comedic chaos awaiting Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde when the sequel hits cinemas on November 26, right in time for Thanksgiving.
In the newly revealed scene, the beloved bunny-and-fox detective duo finds themselves in a somewhat unexpected setting — partners therapy. The scene introduces a lineup of mismatched animal cop duos, including an elephant terrified of his mouse partner and a deer constantly arguing with a skunk. It’s classic Zootopia humor: quirky, fast-paced, and filled with clever sight gags.
Returning to voice the main characters are Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde. Also reprising her role is Shakira as Gazelle, the glamorous pop icon. Among the newcomers, Ke Huy Quan joins the voice cast as a snake, further expanding the colourful world of Zootopia.

Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, and written by Bush, Zootopia 2 follows the 2016 original, which grossed over $1 billion at the global box office. After a mixed run with animation in recent years, Disney rebounded in 2024 with hits like Inside Out 2 and Moana 2. Expectations are now high for Zootopia 2 to continue that momentum.
Based on the CinemaCon footage, the sequel stays close to the charm and style of its predecessor, while introducing fresh dynamics, new characters, and a few surprises along the way.
