Brad Pitt in 'Snatch'

It’s no wonder the film is being compared to a beloved action classic.

Guy Ritchie's cult films continue to stir the minds of his fans. Every new project he touches gets compared to his earlier hits.

The upcoming Netflix documentary The Diamond Heist is no exception. Viewers have already noticed striking similarities with Snatch, especially since both stories revolve around stolen jewels. And the fact that Guy Ritchie is producing this upcoming title only fuels the comparison.

The Plot of The Diamond Heist

This three-part docuseries, presented in a stylized, dramatized format, will recount the infamous attempt by a London gang to steal one of the world’s most valuable gems — the Millennium Star, a diamond worth £350 million and housed in a museum. The criminals meticulously planned the heist in 2000, aiming to pull it off during a major London exhibition. What they didn’t realize was that the police had been monitoring them from the very beginning.

Comparisons Between The Diamond Heist and Snatch

The trailer immediately sparked associations with Guy Ritchie’s classic. For starters, the tone and energy of the docuseries strongly resemble the filmmaker’s signature style. Even the poster brings to mind iconic gangster movies.

Notably, the Snatch soundtrack is featured in the trailer. While the documentary is directed by Jesse Vile, Guy Ritchie played a significant role as the producer. Viewers will be able to judge the similarities for themselves when The Diamond Heist premieres on Netflix on April 16.

Like Guy Ritchie's style? Then you'll definitely want to know about his upcoming series starring Tom Hardy.
