'She's Baaaaack!': The 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Sequel Features a Highly Anticipated Return

Still from the movie 'I Still Know What You Did Last Summer' (1998)

Fans have long awaited the return of '90s horror.

Fans of I Know What You Did Last Summer, rejoice! In the sequel to this iconic slasher, you'll be seeing a familiar face — and not just any face. Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson of the highly anticipated sequel revealed all with a single post on Instagram.

The photo featured a piece of mail addressed to the main character, Julie James, portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt. The handwriting on the envelope was strikingly similar to the first letter she received a year after she and her friends covered up a deadly hit-and-run. That letter had marked the start of their nightmare at the hands of a vengeful fisherman. The director shared the image with a brief yet thrilling caption: "She’s baaaaaack!"

Hewitt won’t be alone in her return to the '90s franchise, as Freddie Prinze Jr. is also coming back as Ray Bronson. The actor last appeared alongside Hewitt in 1998’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Prinze Jr.'s return was confirmed before Hewitt's.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) is a horror film about four friends being stalked by a fisherman after hiding a deadly hit-and-run. Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Sarah Michelle Gellar, it became a popular movie in the '90s.
