'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' Filming Challenges: Wildlife Disrupts Jungle Car Scene
Wild encounters and re-shoots mark filming of iconic jungle chase scene.
During the filming of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, one of the most challenging scenes involved Lara driving her Land Rover through dense jungle terrain.
The production required numerous re-shoots because snakes and other wildlife kept falling through the open roof of the vehicle, creating unexpected hazards and delays.
Angelina Jolie, who portrayed Lara Croft, was reportedly terrified during these scenes, as she had to navigate the dangerous environment while dealing with the unpredictable wildlife. The scene’s difficulties highlight the unpredictable nature of filming in real jungle settings, where safety concerns and animal encounters can complicate even the most carefully planned shots.
