A significant update has emerged regarding Nicolas Winding Refn's latest project, Her Private Hell, which has officially begun production in Tokyo, Japan, as confirmed by NEON.
While specific plot details remain under wraps — consistent with Refn's style — the director has revealed that the film will feature both English and Japanese dialogue. He describes Her Private Hell as an original narrative infused with “glitter, sex, and violence,” elements that are characteristic of his filmmaking approach. The film is expected to explore themes and possibly revisit characters from his previous works, such as The Neon Demon and Only God Forgives, hinting at a surreal and intense viewing experience.
This project marks Refn’s return to feature filmmaking after nearly a decade; his last film, The Neon Demon (2016), garnered mixed reactions at Cannes due to its dreamlike and body-horror aesthetic. Refn is also known for acclaimed films like Drive, Bronson, and the Pusher trilogy.

In recent years, he has shifted his focus to television, directing Netflix’s Copenhagen Cowboy, Amazon’s Too Old to Die Young, and producing the BBC series The Famous Five. Fans eagerly await this new chapter in Refn's cinematic journey.
